JOE BREEZE – “BREEZER”
Type: Nickel Plated “Breezer”
Circa: 1982
Serial #: BO 82.32
Purchased: Bought as a used bike from Point Reyes Bike Shop, virtually unused.
Technical Features:
-Original Nickel Plated Bullmoose bar, broken in use
-Replacement stem bought used from Steve “Gravy” Gravenitis, from his Steve Potts bike
-Bike came with gold anodized Araya rims – TA cranks (replaced) and other anodized bits.
-Parallel 70’s
-Type One fork employs Reynolds Tandem fork blades with special cast fork crown.
Personal Notes:
As Mark Slate said after taking it for a spin, “Joe builds a great bike.” Gravy’s painted Potts stem was a very lucky addition and I’m sure all would approve of it. Truth is the original nickel plated “Bullmoose” was bogus, rusted or corroded from the plating. I dropped the bike and it broke.
A beautiful and rare piece of MTB history. Extra special as an association object —Breeze, Potts, “Gravy” and “Spelunker” (me).
